U2C1 Housekeeping Droid

The U2Z1 Housekeeping Droid is a cheap but effecient housekeeping droid model that is popular with many hotel managers and janitorial services. To despite its vaguely sinister appearance the droid is a common enough sight that it attracts scant notice. The U2C1 is manufactured by the Publictechnic corporation and was designed from the drawing board for commercial and not consumer appliactions. As a result the attractive styling of the body and the pleasant personality were jettisoned in favor of simple utilitarian functionality. This design helped Publictechnic to keep costs down and allowed them to maintain a decent profit margin while selling the droids as discounted "fleet sales" to medium sized businesses.
The units frame is a flimsy bare-bones humanoid frame cast from hardened blue plastic, and its hunched-over head contains an optical slot, audio sensors, and a vocabulator capable of speaking Basic. All of the behavioral and performance circuitry is contained in the head and neck, and the droids torso contains of an internal waste-storage bin, and debris are expelled from the bin via a hinged ventral discharge hatch. Both of the arms are made of a black flex-tubing and are used as powerful vacuum sweepers, and the right arm features a vacuum attachment for cleaning upholstery while the left contains a stiff wire brush for removing persistent stains.
Most of the U2C1 units work as robotic maids and janitors and peform the same duties night after night, which means the require little direct supervision. Until recent years Publictechnic`s problems with the U2C1 were minimal, even though the droids parts snapped off easily, but the replacements were dirt cheap.
A major problem can about when some enterprising criminal minds discovered that Publictechnic`s U2C1 programming was easily subverted, and in one instant a U2C1 was programmed to enter hotel rooms and suck up the jewelry and credit vouchers. In another instants a U2C1 vacuumed a timer bomb into its belly and exploeded outside the office of a Corporate Sector executive as it passed by on its way to buff the lobby floor.
