Fromm Tower Droid

The youthful designer Tig Fromm created the Fromm Tower Droid years before the Battle of Yavin, and he produced hundreds of them at his secret base on the world of Ingo. Tig Fromm is the son of the notorious Sise Fromm, who had belived that droids and other mechanicals were supioror to organic beings because of their greater loyalty, durability, and firepower.
Tig`s most ambitious creation was his mammoth weapons satelite Trigon One, but his Tower Droid was an earlier success for him on a much smaller scale. The Tower Droid was designed and built symmetrically both fore and aft, and it stands at a height of 4 meters tall. Its mobility is made possible by its six oversized pneumatic wheels, and these tires are puncture resistant that have a self-sealing mechanism. This mechanism and tires allow the droid to cross most any types of open terrain, and when on a flat streach the droid can reach a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The Tower Droid`s squat, armor-plated chassis houses its vulnerable engine and drivetrain, and also provides a foundation for the tower assembly.
The cylindrical tower is capped by a saucer-shaped head, which is capable of rotating 360-degress, and the rim of its head i dotted with a variety of detection devices that include, visual, auditory, infrared, electromagnetic, and seismic sensors. The units broadband antenna relays guidance data to its seeker drones and receives orders from a central command post. The Tower Droid`s primary congnitive module is tucked inside its red-and-gray tower cylinder, between its twin firing racks of repulsor balls.
The droids intellegence is unremarkable and their personality programming is nonexistent, but they perform admirably as perimeter sentries. When the Tower Droid identifies a hostile target, it then releases an obsidian repulsor ball from beneath one of its two sliding chest pannels. These antigravity spheres are much faster than their parent vehicle (Tower Droid), and they can outrace a fleeing vehicle at speeds exceeding 250 kilometers per hour, and then when the close to within one meter of their target they explode with a devastating force.
The Tower Droid can remotely pilot and control up to five spheres at one time. Tig Fromm briefly stepped up production to cover his loses after a great deal of his Tower Droids were destroyed during a prisoner rescue which the droid duo of R2-D2 and C-3PO participated in. When Tig and Sise Fromm were captured by the bounty hunter Boba Fett there were 431 operational Tower Droids on Ingo.
After Fett captured Tig and Sise their rival gangsters seized the operation, and since this the Tower Droids have found their way into the hands of revolutionaries, arms dealers, and private collectors.
