The Robo Bartender or automated drink mixer is a droid that is in operation in places that efficiency precedence takes place over atmosphere. The droids can`t empathize with a cresltfallen customer over his lost love and have no interest in the local shockball team`s win/loss record. But on the other hand they can wip up complicated concoctions in a twinkling and never forget an order. This is the main reason why most of the busy spaceports have robo bartenders because the owners could care less about customer loyalty since dozens of new passengers arive each day.
The robo bartenders are a cheep and effecent way to move patrons throught the doors as quickly as possible. The most common bartender in the galaxy is Cybot Galactica`s MisRMastR and is followed closely by LeisureMech Enterprises` C5. The MixRMastR is a unit that is less than one meter tall and is designed to be bolted directly to a table or countertop.
The droid has tubes that extend through the base of the droid and into the floor, which is where they are connected to drums of soda water and common alcohols. The droids speedy processor takes drink orders and finds their matches in its extnsive library of its recipes and then siphons the appropriate ingredients into a glass. A retractable tray serves the drinks while it also takes the money for the drink. Not every owner can afford to have a robo bartender at every table and this is why Cybot Galactica provides a mobile version of the MixRMastR, which is equipped with a repulsorlift unit and two manipulator arms for fixing and carrying beverages.
The unit is also equipped with a rudimentary vocabulator and auditory sensor that allow it to perform simple interactions with the customers. The droids 3.5 meter flight ceiling and small size allow the unit to be able to manuver through even the busiest barrooms. The droids are always at constant threat from electronic sabotage and which is a major headache for droid-dependent tavern owners. Some unscrupulous customers use slicers and can reprogram the droids to delete their tabs or give them end-less rounds on the house. Also pranksters have been known to override the safeties and order fictional cocktails with ingredients that are chemically incompatible and the subsequent explosions are always met with roars of approval from the crowd.
