The Accutronics corporation designed the Model E to interact with children as a secondary caregiver. Most of the model E`s saw service in schools and childcare centers, and some were stationed in recovery wards of pediatric medcenters, and some were used by psych-counselors for putting traumatized children at ease.
Also there were the few that were purchased by wealthy parents for their children as presents. No matter there background no child can resist falling in love with the model E on first sight, this is helped out because the droids are designed to look as nothreating as possible. The units stand under one meter tall, and the humanoid frame is smooth and rounded, and appealing. The plasitc-coated durasteel frame can easily withstand a smashball pitch or a lofty tumble from a tree limb. The E`s were also manufactured in various bright colors that included: yellow, red, green, blue, orange, and pink.
Large photoreceptors stare from the oversized head that protects the personality matrix, while the matrix is not particullary sophisticated it accomplishes its tasks quite remarkably. The E`s are programmed to make friends and are highly skilled at reading the emotion of organic beings. The units voices are carefully modulated to sound mellow and genial, and the units can sing dozens of songs from numerous alien cultures and produce simultaneous musical accompaniment with theri vocabulators. The droids data banks are filled with thousands of children`s sports, hobbies, and games, from Alderaan`s Arch to zizzledy box, and the units will readily lead a group of children outside for an exercise walk, a nature lesson, or a spirited round of Hound the Hawk-bat.
